EducationState University of New York at New Paltz - BS, Cellular and Molecular Biology
ExperienceI am currently pursuing a bachelor's in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the State University of New York, part of a seven-year dual degree program associated with the New York Institute of Technology's College of Osteopathic Medicine. I have extensive experience as a tutor to fellow students in a wide range of subjects, with especially strong skills in mathematics and science. I excelled in Advanced Placement courses of my own and enjoy offering assistance to students taking similar classes and helping them hone the skills needed to flourish. While I intend to build on my passion for and talents in the math and science areas, I am also skilled in Spanish and adept at tutoring the nuances of learning that language. I always impart on my students the importance of recognizing the overall concept of a subject or problem, rather than focus only on memorization of the solutions. A whole and robust understanding of material is critical to its application in the world, and makes learning much more enjoyable. My hobbies and interests include playing volleyball and basketball, and TV shows and video games during down time.
